SURFACE & FORM
Photography

ART in SERiES
This site presents photography organised into distinct series.
Each body of work focuses on a specific visual concern; structure, light, surface or abstraction each explored through repetition and variation.
Taken together, these collections form a quiet conversation between chaos and order, surface and depth and the gradual refinement of ideas.

FORM & MEANiNG
This work is shaped by observation rather than narrative, focusing on form, surface, light and structure.
Meaning is left open, allowing each image to be experienced without a prescribed reading.

TAKE a moment
Now that you're here…
Grab a coffee, or better still, stick the kettle on and brew up some proper Yorkshire tea (or even something herbal if you're feeling fancy). Find a comfy chair, take a breath, and wander through the site at your own pace.
This isn’t a place for scrolling past; it’s for slowing down, squinting at shadows, and maybe getting unreasonably emotional over simple lines.
Along the way, you might want to dip into the Out of Focus blog, where I occasionally ramble about photography, art and the odd tangent or two.
I hope you find something that makes you pause, smile, or stare a bit longer than expected. And if you’ve got thoughts, questions, or compliments disguised as critique - feel free to get in touch.
Always happy to talk shop.
Cheers.
