Hello

My Name is Darran Hunter.
Brand strategist, photographer, painter, motorcyclist. Collector of too many half-finished ideas.
I’ve always had a habit of staring at things most people walk past - a patch of light on a wall, a line of windows behaving like a drumbeat, or a bit of colour hanging on for dear life. That odd way of looking has turned into two parallel careers: helping brands get their act together, and chasing down images that don’t know they’re art yet.

Branding.
By day, I’m a freelance brand strategist and creative support. Translation: I work with agencies that help businesses figure out what they’re really about, why anyone should care, and how to say it without sounding like robots.
I’ve worked with brands across luxury, hospitality, lifestyle and beyond - basically everything from five-star hotels to yachts, helping to give them clearer voices, sharper identities, and campaigns that don’t feel like wallpaper. If that’s your thing, you’ll find more over at darranhunter.co.uk

Photography & Art.
When I’m not unravelling brand strategy, I’m usually pointing a camera at something crumbling, geometric, or quietly strange. Over 30-odd years I’ve worked through a few obsessions: the poetry of decay (Obscura), the drama of light and shadow (Luminara), the strict lines of architecture (Linea), and the messy honesty of paint (Textura).
They don’t really "end" - I just keep adding to them when something catches my eye. Think of them as ongoing conversations rather than neatly tied-up projects.
Find out more about this on my website and my instagram feed.

Life & Other Things.
I live in Leeds, West Yorkshire, and I’ve been surrounded by art and music my whole life. My playlists tend to hover somewhere between The Beatles and Radiohead, with detours for Dylan, Neil Young, Van Morrison, and Paul Weller. Basically: thoughtful, moody, and occasionally loud.
When I’m not working or making images, I’m usually on a motorcycle. Sometimes riding, sometimes swearing at it in the garage, sometimes convincing myself that buying another one would be a “sensible decision.”

This page pulls those threads together: branding, photography, painting, and the small things that make up a life.
If you’d like to work together, talk about art, or just share a good place for a ride out and a decent cup of tea, I’d love to hear from you.
