Welcome to the Blog – Where I Ramble About Photography and Occasionally Make a Point

Right, so here we are - a blog. I swore I’d never do one of these, but like a mug of tea and black t-shirts, some things are inevitable.
Photography, for me, has always been less about chasing the perfect shot and more about paying attention - to mess, to mood, to moments that most people walk past without blinking. Whether it’s a crumpled poster half-stuck to a fence or a streak of light that accidentally makes something look beautiful, I’m interested in the in-between. The almosts. The overlooked. The bits that feel more like memory than documentation.
This blog is where all that stuff lands. It’s a bit of a sketchbook, a bit of a soapbox, and hopefully a place that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Because, let’s be honest, some of my favourite photographs were happy accidents.
What’s My Work About Then?
Honestly? It depends on the day. But if I had to describe it: my photography drifts somewhere between abstraction and observation. I lean into things that are falling apart (Obscura), then veer back towards order and form (Linea) and monochrome images that blur out the noise (Luminara). There’s also Textura, where I swap the camera for a brush, because why not?
If there’s a running theme (or two), it’s probably this: I like the poetry in the mundane. The scraps and shadows. I'm not quite talking about the way the light hits a bin bag just right. Well... not yet. But then I also love a bit of geometric form.... oh and stark black and whites.
Did somebody say Jack of all trades, master of none?
Oh well.

What You’ll Find on the Blog
I’ll be writing about a few different things here, including:
Behind-the-Series Posts: A peek into what I was thinking (or not thinking) when putting each project together.
In Frame: A series where I go full fanboy over other photographers, like Harry Callahan or Saul Leiter, and try not to sound too jealous of their genius.
Photographic Thinking: Musings on process, failure, the occasional flash of insight, and why projects matter more than perfect pictures.
Visual Essays: Pairings of words and images, because sometimes one needs the other.
Field Notes: Snapshots and scribbles from the road, the studio, or the bottom of a strong coffee.
So, whether you’re into photography or just here because you clicked on something by mistake - welcome.
I hope you find something that makes you pause, squint, or smile.
And if not, well, there are worse places to scroll.
Cheers for stopping by.
